Since I came back from Hong Kong and Vietnam last summer, God has taught me so much from my experiences. In Vietnam, I had the opportunity to shoot a documentary film about leprosy which is surprisingly prevalent in rural areas. Being in Vietnam was a totally new experience for me because I lived the way they did with no running water, flushing toilets, or any means of communication. Even though my life was put into danger such as being susceptible to malaria, ebola, leprosy– God kept teaching me, reminding me to rely fully on his strength, his protection,
and his awesome power.
"Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
This verse emphasizes joyfulness, prayer, and thankfulness, which often acts as a reminder for every aspect of my life. From being joyful when my new cousin Devyn was born, to praying continually while being stranded on a boat with a broken motor in the Pacific Ocean, to giving thanks for the college ministry God has given endowed to me at Loyola Marymount University, and finally, to hearing God's will for me for the summer!
This summer, I will be participating with The Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity to assist in the construction and rehabilitation of houses in New Orleans. Also, in part with the The Salvation Army Service Corps missions program, I will be sent to Chile to assist at the many Salvation Army churches, children's homes, and facilities in and around the capital of Santiago. Due to the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina as well as the tremendous eruption of the Chaiten volcano, relief efforts and prayer support is still much needed.
The expenses for both of these mission trips will be $2100. I am extremely grateful for the contributions and support you made towards my previous summer trips to Italy and Hong Kong (twice in both countries!). If you would like to support me through prayer and/or a donation, please contact ko.designs@comcast.net. I truly appreciate the support you have given me through the years, and I thank God that He has placed you in my life.

Please pray for The Salvation Army in New Orleans and Chile, for our journey to be used for God’s glory, for the people we meet to be open to the message of Jesus, for God to protect and empower us with the Holy Spirit.
